Florida's anti-protest bill is needless grandstanding
Republican legislators have filed a bill based on Gov. Ron DeSantis' drive to crack down on protests. Though a few proposals are worth considering, the legislation is largely superfluous and would take away the ability of municipalities to operate local law enforcement as they see fit. To top it off, there's no indication Republicans have given any thought to the social justice problems that drove millions of people to protest last summer.
