'Beer Man for Council Man:' Retired auditor, reporter seeks Las Cruces office

LAS CRUCES – William Beerman, a former newspaperman and certified internal auditor who hails from Pittsburgh and served the Las Cruces Capital Improvements Advisory Committee for several years, is seeking Yvonne Flores District 6 seat on the Las Cruces City Council.
The district includes Sonoma Ranch and much of Las Cruces south of U.S. Highway 70 and east of Interstate 25.
On his campaign website, which prominently displays the slogan Beer Man for Council Man, Beerman calls himself a competent, compassionate conservative and writes that he decided to run because he opposed alleged corruption within the city he saw reported in local media. ....
