Warning Issued As Scammers 'Spoof' Police Numbers Monday, 19 April 2021 Detectives are warning people to be aware of scammers who are using police telephone numbers in their efforts to defraud people.   West Yorkshire Police is investigating three incidents where fraudsters have ‘spoofed’ numbers found on its website to make people believe that the demands for money are from genuine police officers.  Spoofing involves the caller changing the number which appears on a Caller ID and, according to Ofcom’s website, accounts for a significant and growing proportion of nuisance calls.   De...

Friday 12 March 2021 Two men were due to appear before magistrates today charged with drugs offences following a police investigation into cross county drugs trafficking. Ben Heppenstall (21) of Watercroft in Huddersfield was due to appear before Leeds Magistrates Court charged with Conspiracy to Supply Class A Heroin and Crack in the Scarborough area and Possession of a Section 5 firearm.
