That is why there are a not a lot of fatalities. people survived in their houses with the tornadoes unlike the ones we saw last year in a few locations. this is where the tornadoes occurred, about 17 in all. now we re still left with some strong storms down in louisiana. under a flash flood warning in the metroplex area around downtown new orleans. another line of storms just crossed baton rouge. that s headed your way again. not a fun commute there in southern louisiana. later today, more strong storms are likely. i do not think we ll see a tornado outbreak. we ll have a few tornadoes, and of course if they hit a metropolitan area like memphis, nashville, or new orleans, it will be a big story. but most likely, we will not see anything like yesterday. forecastwise from the northeast, you re looking great today. no problems whatsoever. and also if you re joining us from the dallas area, today is your day of cleanup. no storms in your forecast. just amazing pictures. that s tornado vide ....
Gloves. we re in the 50s here waking up from detroit to cleveland, all the way down through all areas of ohio, even d.c. to new york, temperatures are in the mid-40s this morning compared to yesterday when we were right around 30 to 35 degrees. so, you don t need the heavy coat and the gloves today. you can go back to your spring clothing. now, as far as the south goes, we re okay in the southeast. i notice a thunderstorm complex here in south texas. we re clear in the northern plains. we had watched some large hail and lightning with this, and it looks like the storm is still intense right over top of loredo. so up interstate 35, between san antonio and loredo, probably one of the worst drives of the morning. if you re joining us early on the west coast or late, depending what time you re heading to bed, there s been a lot of wet weather lately and it s going to be stormy. we re watching the heaviest in the mountains, but from sacramento up interstate 5, definitely rain to deal with t ....
We re looking at light snow. saw that pittsburgh is reporting light snow this morning. areas in pennsylvania have a little coating. we re also showing up snow north of d.c. and north of baltimore. some of that may be hitting the ground. some may not. a lot of it is evaporating the air is so dry. keep an eye on roads in maryland or pennsylvania if you re heading out this morning. forecastwise, another mild day. it will be temperatures soaring into the 40s in most areas. whatever snowflakes you get, light rain later today. temperatures in pittsburgh will get up to 39. even boston at 43. so much for the cold air. it s gone. as far as the rest of valentine s day. light rain in the deep south. middle of the country, you look fine today. no problems at all. a little bit of light rain in arizona. tomorrow we watch that storm moving into the middle of the country. but more rain. really no issues. temperatures continue to be mild, lynn, from coast to coast. thanks, bill. coming up, hollywoo ....
