Former day care provider pleads guilty to charges from 2018 infant death
A former Eugene day care worker pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree criminal mistreatment and tampering with evidence related to the 2018 death of an infant in her care, while having charges of criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter dismissed. Nicole Sumpter was charged in connection to the death of a 9-month-old infant that stopped breathing in her care at Little Big Blessings in Eugene.
