BEIRUT, Lebanon – Eight of Alice Joubanian’s grandchildren – all under 8 years old ‒ lived with her and her daughter in a Beirut camp for Armenian refugees when a massive explosion of ammonium nitrate rocked the city on Aug. 4, 2020.
As the sound and power of the explosion destroyed buildings and killed about 200 people, Joubanian’s daughter, Maria Berberian, ran to help the children, four of whom were her own and four who were her brother’s. In the chaos, she fell and broke her arm.
Berberian, a single mother, joined thousands of others in Beirut who were injured that day, making an already difficult life more so. Unable to keep working as a caregiver and housekeeper for an older woman in Lebanon, Berberian was fired. ....

The Tripura government has announced that media personnel in the state will be provided with health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh a year,
PTI reported. Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb made the announcement during a conference in Agartala by the Forum for Development and Protection of Media Community.
PTI said that Deb s speech included suggestions to create livelihood opportunities for journalists. It quoted him as saying: I want to suggest to the leaders of FDPMC that it should prepare a list of journalists who belong to the low- income group. The state government will leave no stone unturned to work for the betterment of their livelihood opportunities. ....

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has announced an annual health insurance cover of 5 lakhs worth for the journalists in Tripura. The announcement was made by CM Deb in a conference named Forum for Development and Protection of Media Community held in Agartala. The Minister further stated that the health insurance will be provided by the state government under the Ayushman Tripura Scheme to the journalists. ....

The Tripura government has said
media personnel in the state will be provided health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per year.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb made the announcement of the Ayushman Tripura Scheme during the first state conference of Forum for Development and Protection of Media Community (FDPMC) in Agartala.
Deb also laid emphasis on creating livelihood opportunities for working journalists.
I want to suggest to the leaders of FDPMC that it should prepare a list of journalists who belong to the low- income group. The state government will leave no stone unturned to work for the betterment of their livelihood opportunities, he said. ....

Three journalists were allegedly assaulted when they were they went to cover a clash between ruling BJP and opposition CPI-M workers at Khayerpur, about 10 km from capital Agartala. Three complaints have been filed so far but the culprits are yet to be arrested. ....
