All wars are different. All wars are the same. The equipment changes to be sure. The Roman Legionnaire was armed with a gladius and pilum, the Revolutionary War patriot carried his musket, the World War II grunt had an M1 rifle or BAR, while todayâs soldier may be issued a M240 machine gun.
