Another 24 people die with Covid-19 in Dorset hospitals A FURTHER 24 people have died after with Covid-19 in hospitals across Dorset. Latest figures released by NHS England on Friday, January 22, show a total of 18 deaths have been recorded by University Hospitals Dorset, which runs Bournemouth and Poole hospitals. Eleven deaths were confirmed on January 20 with two occurring on January 12, 19 and 21. One death was recorded January 16. Dorset County Hospital has recorded five deaths with three on January 20 and a further two the following day. One death was reported by Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust on January 20. This means since the start of the pandemic, a total of 526 patients have died with the coronavirus in Dorset hospitals.

Figures published by NHS England today (December 19) reveal that eight more people have died with Covid-19. Across the whole of Hampshire, 822 people have died with Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic in March. At Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, five more patients have been confirmed as having died from the virus, bringing the total death toll up to 331. These deaths occurred on December 17. Three patients died with Covid-19 at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust on December 16, bringing the total number of deaths up to 233. There have been 230 deaths at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since the start of the health crisis.

These fatalities bring the number of Covid-19 deaths in the district's hospitals to 602. Two deaths were recorded at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, taking the total number of patients who have died from Covid-19 there to 422. These deaths took place on Sunday, December 13. A further two deaths were recorded at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust on December 14 and December 11. This means a total of 178 people have died at Airedale and two have sadly died at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.
