In the financial year 2020, the Group generated sales of EUR 220 million and positive earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR 3.2 million (1.4%).

Manroland Goss 'seizing new opportunities'

It said that its service business had remained stable during the pandemic, but incoming orders were below expectations.
CEO Franz Kriechbaum was upbeat about future prospects, with Manroland Goss pointing to growth in new press orders “driven in particular by web offset packaging printing solutions”.
The firm scooped an order for its Varioman c:line press, which can print onto paper and board from 100-700microns, at a greenfield packaging site in Germany last year.
Its most recent commercial web installation in the UK, a 32pp Lithoman IV at Warners Midlands, was commissioned just over a year ago.
Kriechbaum said: “We are constantly on the move and are seizing many new opportunities created through rethinking our processes. And all of this equipped with benefits and added value for our customers.” ....

Manroland Goss Group acquires Contiweb's Thallo packaging business – Graphic Arts Magazine

The Manroland Goss Group (Augsburg, Germany) and Contiweb B.V. (Boxmeer, The Netherlands) have signed a purchase agreement for the sale of Contiweb’s Thallo web-offset packaging business, including all intellectual property rights. Manroland Goss, by this strategic investment, will complement its product portfolio for the growing web-offset packaging market. New and current Thallo customers will benefit from decades of web-offset expertise and the global sales and service organization of Manroland Goss. Contiweb, at the same time, will continue its core business of supplying auxiliary systems to the web-offset and digital printing industries.

Manroland Goss Group has beefed up its packaging offering with the acquisition of the Thallo business from former sister company Contiweb.
Thallo presses are targeted at a range of packaging and security print applications
Manroland Goss Group is the worldwide business of Manroland Goss Web Systems (MGWS).
Thallo web presses are targeted at runs that are too short to be profitable using flexo or gravure, but “too long to be economically viable on digital”.
Its offset printing unit can run in wet offset, dry offset, ‘rainbow’ print and UV flexo mode. Hybrid offset configurations are also possible, combining other print processes. ....
