Islanders vs. Hurricanes Game 2: Will the second game in this series stay under the total at PNC Arena on Monday night?

In the third weekly Metropolitan Division snapshot of the season, the New York Rangers rose to the top, the Carolina Hurricanes got some wins at home, and the Columbus Blue Jackets went winless. All this and more about all 8 teams in the week that was and the week that will be.

Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Auston Matthews was the big winner on Tuesday night at the NHL Awards, collecting the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player and the Ted Lindsay Award as the NHLPA's most outstanding player.

Boston netminder Linus Ullmark had a playoff debut to forget Monday, allowing four goals in the Bruins' Game 1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, but coach Bruce Cassidy wasn't assigning blame afterward, saying "I am not faulting our goaltender for this."

The Hurricanes can wrap up the Metropolitan Division title with a win over the Rangers on Tuesday.
