In this study, a multiple-dimensional displacement measurement technology is demonstrated by using self-mixing interferometry (SMI) cooperating with a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technique. The proposed SMI configuration with a single laser generates three modulated light beams with different carrier frequencies.
