Five Tigers Earn All-ACC Honors

CLEMSON, S.C. – On Tuesday, April 23, the ACC announced that five Clemson Tigers earned All-ACC honors, including two on the All-ACC Second Team and three on the ACC All-Freshman Team. Sophomore Defender Paris Masaracchia and Junior Goalie Emily Lamparter represented the Tigers on the All-ACC Second team. Meanwhile, Regan Byrne, Kayla Macleod and Natalie Shurtleff represented the Tigers on the All-Freshman team.  This is the first time that any Clemson player has been named to the All-ACC Second Team and sets a record for the most freshmen named to the All-Freshman team. Notably, Clemson tied Virginia with the most freshmen represented on the ACC All-Freshman team with three.  Earning a spot on last year’s 2023 ACC All-Freshman Team, Paris Masaracchia earned All-ACC awards in back-to-back seasons.  Masaracchia has been a key member on the draw circle and on the defensive end this season. Masaracchia is also a huge contributor on the draw, totaling the second most on the team with 40 this season.  Emily Lamparter has proven herself as one of the best goalies in the NCAA and as a result earns her first All-ACC honors. Lamparter ranks No. 1 in the ACC and No. 15 nationally in saves percentage (46.4%). This season she recorded a career high of 16 saves against North Carolina and played a pivotal role in keeping Clemson close to Notre Dame as she produced two game saving stops at the end of regulation and in the first overtime.  Each of Clemson’s three freshmen named to the ACC’s All-Freshman team have been huge contributors to the Tigers in their first season. Regan Byrne opened the season with a team high of six goals and went on to produce 10 multipoint games this season with a total of 36 goals. Kayla Macleod has proven to be a big threat from the free position as she is No. 18 in the nation and No. 2 out of the freshman in the nation in free position goals per game. Tigers Sign Sharpshooter Out Of Transfer Portal

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s basketball program and head coach Shawn Poppie announced the signing of sophomore transfer student Hannah Kohn on Tuesday afternoon. Kohn, a transfer from Chattanooga who was selected as a 2024 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team honoree, transfers to Clemson as one of the best shooters in the nation. By percentage, Kohn is the best sharpshooter in the transfer portal. Kohn is one of three players in the nation to shoot over 46% from outside last season as she went on to set a school record for best single-season three-point percentage (.463) and set a program record for most three pointers made by a freshman (68). In the 2024 SoCon tournament, Kohn, who was selected to the All-Tournament Second Team, averaged 11 points per game, shot 61% from three-point land on 18 attempts, and averaged over three rebounds per contest. Over the course of the 2023-24 season, Kohn played the fifth-most minutes on the team but was the third leading scorer for the Mocs at 7.6 points per game. She put up a career-high of 17 points in her collegiate debut against King University. Prior to her time at Chattanooga, Kohn was a prolific scorer during her prep years. The Oviedo, Fla. native was named All-Area Top Ten in 2021-22 with over 2,150 career points and 117 three pointers, averaging 25 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals per contest. She was named the District 7 Player of the Year, and set the national record for most three pointers in a game with 19 en route to scoring 61 points in that same game. POPPIE’S THOUGHTS   “Hannah is a great addition to what we are building here at Clemson. In today’s game you better be able to stretch the floor and Hannah does just that. She was the third best shooter in the country this past season as a true freshman and the best shooter coming out of the transfer portal. Her ability to make shots translates to any level. With that said, she is a tireless worker and unbelievable teammate. I’m looking forward to adding her to our Clemson family as she continues to develop on and off the court.
