More than two-fifths of UK exporters saw their overseas sales decline over the first three months of the year, according to a new survey by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC). Overall, 41 per cent of businesses reported making fewer export sales compared to 38 per cent from October to December 2020 while the proportion of firms reporting higher exports dropped by two percentage points to 20 per cent.
