Hella Meta Stokes (Goertz) of Prince Frederick, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Hella was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Hella was born April 22, 1940 in Oldenburg, Germany to Kurt and Ella Goertz. She was the youngest of four children.
Hella came to the United States in 1960 and married the love of her life, Larry A. Stokes. Together they had three children: Larry, Raymond, and Catherine, whom they raised in Cheverly, MD. Hella had various jobs throughout her life, but she felt her most important ones were being a wife and a mother. In December 1991, her life changed when her husband passed away suddenly. Hella was a strong woman who adjusted to her new life with courage and determination. In 2002, Hella moved to her new home at Chapline House in Prince Frederick, MD. ....

Larry Edward Tomko, 74, passed away peacefully in his home in Dunkirk, MD on February 18, 2021.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family, church, and community and served them all faithfully during his lifetime. He had a passion for helping others whether it be for family, friends, or the community. He was a highly-skilled contractor, who took great pride in the home he built for his family where they have resided for over 40 years. Larry enjoyed beautifying his home in the woods and found raking/blowing leaves to be therapeutic and now leaves this fun for his children (Thanks, Dad aka Bubba J. ). ....

Garrette Walton Peck, III, age 79, of Dunkirk, MD, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020 after a long chronic illness.
He was survived by his wife, Sheila, son, Garrette (Victoria), stepson, Colby Eglinton (Natalie) and grandchildren, Garrette Peck, V, G5 , Brooks, Jill and Ethan Eglinton, sister, Gabrielle Holcombe (David) and beloved nieces, nephew and grand-nephew.
He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Boyd Peck, father, Garrette Walton Peck, II and his brother, Boyd Gordon Peck.
Garrette was born in Pensacola, FL on November 26, 1941. The family lived in New Orleans, LA, and Culver City, CA, before relocating to Washington, D.C. in the summer of 1949. He attended Sacred Heart School in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in Northwest Washington. The area would serve as a source of joy and pride for Garrette, as he acquired wonderful, life-long friends. ....
