Dundee Commercial Motor Vehicle Officer Joe Schumaker took a floatation device out on the ice to the victim. Officer Schumaker fell through the ice but “continued wading out to complete the rescue,” Dundee PD said.
A Dundee police officer also fell through the ice as he attempted to save the 12-year-old boy Tuesday morning.
A delivery driver heard a boy's cries for help Tuesday and called 911 so that emergency personnel could rescue the boy from the pond near Cabela's.
