BELLEVILLE A woman is suing J.C. Penney, claiming she slipped on a paper sign that fell from the store s ceiling and suffered injuries. Geneva Jones filed a complaint Dec. 10 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against J.C. Penney Corporation Inc., alleging negligence. Jones alleges in her complaint that she was shopping at the J.C. Penney store in Fairview Heights on July 25, 2019. She claims that while she was at the store, her foot came into contact with a paper type sign, which appeared to have come down from the ceiling. The sign allegedly caused her to slip and fall. ....
