Gettysburg Borough passes anti-discrimination ordinance

The Gettysburg Borough Council has voted unanimously to adopt an ordinance enacting local protections for people, regardless or their sexual orientation or gender identity.
The ordinance protects against discrimination towards gay, transgender or genderqueer people in employment, housing and public accommodations. The ordinance will next go before Gettysburg mayor Theodore Streeter.
It makes Gettysburg the 63rd municipality in Pennsylvania to pass similar LGBTQ protections.
The move from the borough council came after a coordinated effort from the Pennsylvania Youth Congress and Gettysburg Pride founder Chad-Alan Carr.
