Telangana Tier II Cities To Get IT Hubs

The Telangana government has decided to expand the IT hubs in the state, focusing on tier II and tier III towns such as Ramagundam and Wanaparthy.
Vijay Rangineni, CEO of IT Hubs said, The aim is to ensure that 25,000 IT professionals get employment in various existing IT Hubs as also the upcoming ones in the next two years.
Apart from Hyderabad, some tier-II cities have new IT and IT-enabled services hubs (ITES). Now, the government is focusing on tier III cities. Warangal, Khammam and Karimnagar have IT hubs. More IT towers are going to be developed in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, and Siddipet districts. It’s not limited to tier II towns, and plans have already been chalked out to set up IT towers in tier III towns such as Ramagundam and Wanaparthy, Vijay Rangineni said. ....

Woolworths is hoping to remodel the way it develops software so that engineers can move between internal projects and business units “with relative ease”.
Head of technology, cloud and platform engineering Josh Rogers told a GitHub webinar last week that although the retailer’s efforts are “relatively new”, it is starting to create some ‘elasticity’ in its workforce and to see the impact of those efforts.
He noted it was desirable for engineers to be able to move “between different projects and applications or even different business units”.
“Especially within Woolworths, we have different businesses that operate in different ways,” Rogers said. ....

Yesterday, two malicious commits were pushed to the
php-src Git repository maintained by the PHP team on their
git.php.net server.
The threat actors had signed off on these commits as if these were made by known PHP developers and maintainers, Rasmus Lerdorf and Nikita Popov.

In an attempt to compromise the PHP code base, two malicious commits were pushed to the official PHP Git repository yesterday.
The incident is alarming considering PHP remains the server-side programming language to power over 79% of the websites on the Internet. ....

Two physicists developed an algorithm to analyze Taylor Swift s emotions in each of her songs.
The analysis was published on April 1, and the paper is meant as a joke but the science is real.
A total of nine hours, 43 minutes, and six seconds of music were analyzed by the pair.
Two physicists from the University of Chicago released an in-depth report on Thursday outlining an algorithm that they developed to analyze 149 Taylor Swift songs to decode the award-winning singer s emotions over the past 14 years.
The report, titled I Knew You Were Trouble: Emotional Trends in the Repertoire of Taylor Swift, was published on arXiv, a prominent online repository for papers on math, science, and artificial intelligence.
