Twitter issued a subpoena to GitHub on Friday to reveal the identity of the leaker, who goes by the screen name "FreeSpeechEnthusiast."
Twitter has also asked for identities of those who have downloaded the code from an open-source coding collaboration platform.
GitHub took down the code that was apparently uploaded by a user known as “FreeSpeechEnthusiast”
The code includes computer instructions used to run Twitter’s social media site.
A user identified as “FreeSpeechEnthusiast” in court documents allegedly shared parts of Twitter’s source code on GitHub, an online platform used by software developers.
