Feb 23, 2021 3:42 PM Laura Ann Berry, 74 of Coldwater passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a celebration of life at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home. Laura was born January 7, 1947 to Lyle and Doris (Lane) Barry in Coldwater. She was a very hardworking woman, spending 28 years with the State of Michigan as a Case Worker, taking an early buyout. Laura then took a position at the Walmart Distribution center in 1999 and retired in 2019 as a Transportation Traffic Coordinator. She was married at an early age to Phillip Parker. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1994. After his death, she took another job with Video Connection, where she worked for several years. Laura then met and married Jack Berry on December 30, 1996. Together they created many memories. ....
Dec 17, 2020 4:50 PM Charlotte Jean Smith, 82, of Union City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. Following cremation, she will be memorialized at a later date, with private burial at North Sherwood Cemetery. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City. Char was born September 11, 1938 in Charlotte, Michigan to Garland and Marvel (Bowen) Grinage. She attended Hastings High School, a member of the Class of 1956. Char was married to Thomas Vaccaro and later to John Smith, but both unions ended in divorce. Char worked as a waitress for 25 years in Battle Creek, Union City and Coldwater, as well as Kalkaska, where she owned the Country Boy Bar. In later years she worked at the B Drive Meijer in Battle Creek. Â Â Â Char enjoyed spending time with family, especially grand- and great-grandchildren.
