For sheer volume of words produced, it’s hard to beat Ambrose Heath. A newspaper columnist, Heath wrote (and wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote) about comestibles. And in an admirable act of recycling, he turned his many columns into books. He authored Good Food in 1932 and More Good Food in 1933. By the end of 1939, he had cranked out some 20 books more, among them Good Savouries, Good Potato Dishes, Good Soups, Good Sweets, Good Dishes from Tinned Foods, and (the reason I have been reading the groaning shelves born of Heath’s fecund pen) Good Drinks.

Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza has also opened in Boca Raton, while SoBol will open March 31 in Boynton Beach and Akira Beck will debut March 25 in Delray Beach. Meanwhile Spatch Peri-Peri Chicken closed in Fort Lauderdale and Via Vai Italian Deli has been sold in Wilton Manors.

The Gringo Empanadas and More has also opened in Delray Beach, and Akira Beck will open March 25 inside the Ray hotel in Delray Beach. Also coming soon: the delayed Carousel Club at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach is now set to debut April 1.

Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar will open March 18 in Plantation, and the gastro pub Bar 25 will open later this spring in Delray Beach. But after 26 years, Monster Subs in Fort Lauderdale has closed.

Gastropub Bar 25 is coming soon to downtown Delray Beach, while Phat Boy Sushi and Kitchen is rolling into Davie. Also: Chef Lenore Nolan-Ryan’s Grapes Wine Cafe & Market has closed on Fort Lauderdale's Galt Ocean Mile.
