Sony has apparently registered a trademark for Sunset Overdrive. Though the first Sunset Overdrive was Xbox exclusive, developer Insomniac retained the rights to the IP. PlayStation bought Insomniac in 2019, and has the ability to pursue any potential sequels. It's been seven years since Insomniac released Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One, and the title may still live on at Sony according to a new trademark filed recently.
