>> dana: grady trimble reporting for fox business live at the white house this morning. >> inflation is still high but new numbers out this morning show it could be easing. a sign that the federal reserve could slow interest rate hikes when they meet next week. the numbers show consumer spending is down from the previous month which is not a good sign for the economy. it means it could be slowing. that's not stopping president biden from painting a rosie pick the tour on the economy in a speech thursday he touted the latest gdp number but failed to mention it fell from the previous quarter. business investment is down as well. >> president biden: over the past six months inflation has gone down every month and god willing will continue to do that. manufacturing jobs continue to go up stronger than any time in the last 40 years. i don't think it's unfair to say this is all evidence that the biden economic plan because you all is actually working.

a quick look sixth avenue, avenue of the americas in new york city where it's all going to happen on thanksgiving day, maybe. if the wind cooperates. meantime, nearly 2 million people expected to pass through chicago's airports during the holiday weekend as those storms threaten the region. the fox business network's grady trimble reporting live from o'hare. grady, how is this going to stack up to previous years? >> well, it should be another record year this year. the airline industry expects almost 32 million people to get on a plane during the 12 day holiday travel season around thanksgiving. that would be a record. it would also be up 3.7% compared to the same time period last year. the industry is also expecting a single day record with most people traveling on the sunday after thanksgiving. so that would be a single day air travel record. i talked to one of the travelers of those 3.1 million planning to get on a plane that day.
