A series of nature-themed hikes and workshops hosted by New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, West Virginia State Parks, Active Southern West Virginia and other organizations from March 16 through the end of May 2024 on public lands across southern West Virginia. All activities in the annual Spring Nature Fling program are free and open to all age groups, although children must be accompanied by adults.
In 2021, West Virginia's New River Gorge became the 63rd national park in the U.S. It offers whitewater rafting, free primitive camping, and much more.
Autumn operating hours at the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve now are in effect at park facilities, according to acting superintendent Jason Newman.
