A series of nature-themed hikes and workshops hosted by New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, West Virginia State Parks, Active Southern West Virginia and other organizations from March 16 through the end of May 2024 on public lands across southern West Virginia. In 1985, Racky Ward was the unofficial mayor of Thurmond, West Virginia, one of the smallest incorporated towns in the United States, situated in Fayette County on the New River.
