One of my favorite desserts is a three-layered brownie. Chocolate chip cookie dough serves as the base, Oreo cookies are then placed on top of the cookie dough, and brownie batter is spread on top of it all. I didn’t think there was a way to step it up until I saw a TikTok that suggested putting crushed Oreos ON TOP! Guess I’ll have to put that on my baking to-do list. (Michael: I love #LuRecipeFriday) • I’ll take all the news that comes with even the slightest hint of good vibes these days. So don’t mind me if I’m tickled that the NFL’s salary cap floor will be $5 million more than original projections. And to think, it could still grow from there: ....
I don’t want to hear about Robbie Gould (two missed field goals, one missed extra point vs. the Cardinals) for the foreseeable future. But Kittle (4 catches, 92 yards) did work in his first game back from injured reserve. As a Bears fan, I’m thankful for his efforts. Should Chicago take advantage of the path presented by Kittle, finish the job, and make the postseason, I imagine he’ll be racking up “thank you” cards from Bears ....
• The Chicago Bears’ six-game season in September and October was fueled by a defense playing with its hair on fire and an offense scraping by with a healthy bit of good fortune. A six-game season from the end of October through early December followed. That football season featured a bad offense, failure in executing fundamentals, and every red flag that called for change imaginable. Now we’re in a stretch where the offense looks good, the defense appears to be reeling, and a push for change has taken a backseat to a plausible postseason run. The writers who scripted the 2020 Bears season are off their rocker. Who knows what they’ve got in store for us next? Not me. I just know that I’m tuning in this (and every) week to find out. ....
