GCA Trades Academy to open Tiyan facility Pacific Daily News View Comments The GCA Trades Academy will be officially opening a new training facility in Tiyan at 11 a.m. June 2, according to a news release. Ground was first broken on the facility located beside the Guam Department of Education main office back in 2019. Two 10,000-square-foot buildings were renovated to expand classes for the local construction workforce. The old facility in Barrigada was running out of space, according to education director Bert Johnston. The ribbon-cutting on Wednesday will include a tour of the facilities for officials and the media, GCA public relations manager Jay Forsyth said, though the public won t be able to attend due to social distancing guidelines. ....
