DEO has sought a reply from the school within seven days on why prior permission of the Education Department was not sought in the matter, referring to a November 2023 circular reminding the schools to take requisite permissions for field trips and picnics.

The Special Investigation Team formed to probe the case alleged that Teesta Setalvad and R B Sreekumar were part of a larger conspiracy carried out at the behest of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel to destabilise the Gujarat government led by then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.
In response to the allegations accusing Teesta Setalvad of ‘conspiring’ with Ahmed Patel, the Congress said that the police is “dancing to the tune of its political master and will sit wherever it is told to.”
