Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the state and the 250th anniversary of the incorporation of the town of Hallowell with months of free activities.

Hallowell, like many other cities and towns in the Pine Tree State, was preparing to “party hearty” in celebration of the state’s Bicentennial last spring when all activities were abruptly canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hubbard Free Library project to preserve local newspapers dating back to 1790s
The library is nearly finished with a $2,500 project to better store 120 volumes of newspapers printed in Hallowell from 1796 to 1911.
