thank you so much. you re welcome. you know what? a little google goes a long way in this thing that we call the lexicon of the english language. thank you. thank you. thanks, don. joining me now, political analysts ron brownstein and kirsten powers and stuart stevens. they always have perfect grammar. good evening to all of you. stuart, let s start with you, and let s start with the hannity texts and the committee wanting more information from him. this is what he was saying behind the scenes, not to his audience, that whole time. what do you think of this? look, i think the problem we have is that we fall back on thinking about this under the way that our sort of political societal structure has existed before, which isn t the right one. hannity s not a journalist. fox is not a news outlet.
have to worry about a cabal to take your rights with conspiracy befitting a dan brown novel, the government doesn t have the range. being stuck in your car, trapped on highway for entire day is definitely the absolute worst. that s tonight s the reid out. all in with chris hayes starts right now. tonight on all in. i beg you, sean, remember the frame of mind you were in when you wrote that text january 6. we have more hannity texts. he was more than a fox host, also a confidante, adviser of the former president. new texts by the january 6 committee, new questions what he knew about trump s plans. quote, can he make a statement, ask people to leave
we heard groups like antifa, other radical groups, they were there to cause trouble. hannity and fox, they spend a lot of time telling viewers what they think is patriotism. but just to recap here, hannity s network publicly sold the big lie, they built it up, so that a president could carry out a coup, a blatant attack on democracy. their viewers are being lied to. brainwashed, manipulated, and just to be clear, fox is not a news network, which is not breaking news, i will say. joining us now, david gregory and former trump white house communications director alisa farrah griffin. i want to read one of the hannity texts first again. i do think it is very important for the investigation here. and it is very short. he writes on january 5th, i m very worried about the next 48 hours. so the select committee points out correctly, why?
around the events of january 6th. according to the committee what hannity texts, just to be clear was, quote, can he make a statement, ask people to leave the capitol. that s a next he sent to mark meadows. we re also learning the committee has not ruled out a subpoena for donald trump? that s right. and they made that very clear from the very beginning of this investigation. that there is no one that s above the reach of their inquiry and they re reiterating this just a couple of days before the anniversary of january 6th. so, of course, the former president is a key player in all of this investigation and there s still serious questions, jake, as to what role he played and whether there was any specific coordination between the riot itself and the president s actions and they also want to know about what he didn t do as the riot was taking place. these are all questions they want answered. let s discuss all this with zoe lofgren of california who is on the house select committe
