THE Marah Trust has been continuing to support homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the Stroud area throughout the pandemic. The Marah team serve up free, nutritious take away meals three times a week, and are now regularly giving out over 100 meals per session. Their annual Christmas meal will be this Saturday. This year it is takeaway only, due to Covid regulations. The meals will be served at the Stroud Valley Scouting and Community Centre in Chapel Street, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Chailey Heritage has raised £24,000 in just eight days for a new 21st Century outdoor learning space for the youngest children with complex disabilities which they support after taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, an annual match funding project. It needed £12,000 of online donations – all of which were matched – from the public in the first eight days of December and reached its target with just two hours to spare.
