Diss Cornhall show rescheduling can t take the shine off fantastic fundraising efforts

The Corn Hall has been finding reasons to remain upbeat this week, despite the latest lockdown causing another enforced rescheduling of shows.
The venue in Diss has had to close for six weeks or more, and cannot begin to reschedule its shows yet, as the length of the lockdown is not yet known.
Customers have been reassured that all tickets for rescheduled shows will remain valid when the Corn Hall reopens.

Newark and Southwell: More than £40,000 raised for Reach Learning Disability Charity in Big Give Christmas Challenge

More than Â£40,000 has been raised as part of a Christmas challenge.
Reach Learning Disability Charity, which has services in Newark and Southwell, took part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, a national matched-funding campaign.
Supporters came up with innovative ways to raise money, including Sullivanâs Sword, which performed its traditional Plough Play virtually for the first time, and Steve Scall, who organised an online soccer sweepstake.

Hospice Ethiopia UK's Big Give Christmas Challenge

Once again, we have rounded up our fundraising year with a very successful Big Give Christmas Challenge. As a result, palliative care in Ethiopia will be over £9,000 better off, which means that more patients like Subira (not her real name) can be cared for by medics trained in palliative care. Subira suffered from severe pain secondary to a carcinoma affecting her eye until it was controlled by medicines and advice provided by expert nurses from Hospice Ethiopia.
So, who are we? We’re a small UK registered charity called Hospice Ethiopia UK. We don’t employ anyone, but with our volunteers we raise funds to promote and support palliative care in Ethiopia. The Big Give Christmas Challenge is an annual fundraising event established by the Reed Foundation which is open to UK registered charities. The event occurs in the first week of December each year. Chailey Heritage to get new playground

Chailey Heritage has raised £24,000 in just eight days for a new 21st Century outdoor learning space for the youngest children with complex disabilities which they support after taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, an annual match funding project.
It needed £12,000 of online donations – all of which were matched – from the public in the first eight days of December and reached its target with just two hours to spare.
Headteacher, Simon Yates, said the playground will make a huge difference to the pupils’ lives.
He said: “I want to thank everyone who donated, especially at a difficult time with Covid 19. We are truly grateful. ....
