Gyptian International Reggae star Gyptian jetted off the island this morning to do his first performance in the US in almost 18 months. “I am looking forward to performing my fans again in Florida, it’s going to be a great show,” Gyptian said. He will be performing at a show dubbed VIP Weekend on May 2nd at the Karu venue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Yanique Curvy Diva will also be performing on show as well. Boom Boom and Harry Hype from Jamaica, DJ Kidd and DJ Entourage from New York, and other selectors will also perform at the event. Gyptian’s bookings are handled by Tameka Reynolds of Free People Entertainment.

D'Yani and Marcy Chin Since its inception in the 1990s, Downsound Records (DSR) has consistently sought to highlight emerging talent on its projects. Among the acts that the label has brought from obscurity to fame are Nanko, I-Maroon, Fantan Mojah and Jah Cure among others. The label continues its thrust in highlighting newcomers with a 12-track project, the Storm Trooper rhythm. Released on February 26, this is the first rhythm project for the label in five years. “In this period of uncertainty which is the new normal we threw out this rhythm and put some focus and emphasis behind some new talent. We look forward to seeing how they develop and the response they get,” said Downsound CEO Josef Bogdonavich.
