Tigers Close Out Season at Southeast Regionals

Earlysville, Va. The men's and women's Clemson cross country teams competed this morning at the ACC Championship meet hosted by Virginia at the Panorama Farms Course. The men's team finished in 13th place while the women secured the 14th spot in the conference.  On the men's side, Victor Ndiwa led the way for Clemson in the 8k. He completed the race in 23:59.6, good for the 52nd best time in the field of 143. He was trailed by Sawyer Dagan and Marlin Young, who finished 67th and 76th, respectively.  The women's team was paced by Brynne Sumner, who completed the 6k in 21:49.0. She was the 86th finisher in the race and was followed by freshmen Madison Roush and Maddie Dinneen, who finished 94th and 103rd, respectively.  Up next, the Tigers will head to NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Lexington, Ky. Tigers Compete at ACC Championships at Virginia

Tigers Impress at Live in Lou

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  The Clemson cross country team competed Saturday morning at the Live in Lou meet, with the men running an 8k and the women running a 5k. Marlin Young and Maddie Dinneen were the first Tigers to complete their respective races. Young finished the 8k in 24:12.8, giving him the 40th best time in a field of over 300 runners. He was followed by Victor Ndiwa, who in his first race ran a 18:42.3, and Jack McManus was the third Tiger finisher at 24:46.1. The men finished in 19th place out of 31 competing teams. Dinneen was the first Clemson woman to complete the race for the third consecutive meet, running a 18:06.2 5k. She was trailed by Brynne Sumner and Madison Roush, amounting to a 23rd place finish for the team in a field of 42. This was a great experience for our team, especially the freshman, said Head Coach Vicky Pounds. It was a good indicator of where we are mid season and where we need to get to in the coming weeks. Tigers Start Season Strong at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga.  The Clemson cross country team got its season off to a hot start at the Kennesaw State Dual Meet on Friday night. Freshman Maddie Dinneen won the women's 4k while Marlin Young finished the 6k first for the men as each teams had the top three finishers in their respective races. Dinneen's 14:03.11 time was dominant in the 4k, as she crossed the line over 25 seconds sooner than the second-place finisher, Brynne Sumner. Clemson earned the third and fourth place finishes as well as Courtney Farishian and Madison Roush were quick to follow Sumner. Makenzie Steele finished ninth overall with a time of 14:43.22. Young led the way in the men's 6k, completing the course in just 18:46.59. He was trailed by Sawyer Dagan and Daniel Sullivan who completed the top-three sweep for the Tigers. I was impressed to see how well both teams worked together in the race, said Head Coach Vicky Pounds. It was a great start to the season and I look forward to see how they perform ....

Tigers Compete at ACC Championships in Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind.  The men's and women's Clemson cross country teams competed this morning at the ACC Championship meet in Notre Dame, Ind. The Tigers finished 15th in the women's 6K race and 13th in the men's 8K. On the women's side, Leah Disher set the top mark for the Tigers, completing the 6K course with a time of 21:55.4, good for 74th in the field that included five top-30 ranked teams. Andrea Foster trailed behind her and finished in 22:19.0. The men were paced by Samuel Garringer, whose time of 25:42.7 was the 100th fastest in the field. Freshman Sawyer Dagan crossed the line shortly after him, finishing in 109th with a time of 26:23.5. Up next, the Tigers close out their season at the NCAA Regional Championships in Lexington, Ky. That meet takes place on Friday, Nov. 12.
