Hochul's NYC Interborough Express faces engineering challenges
The new line — dubbed the Interborough Express — would run along a 14-mile stretch of tracks between Bay Ridge and Jackson Heights that until the 1920s were used for passenger trains, but are now only used for freight rail. Transit officials estimate it would serve up to 88,000 riders per day, and would only take 40 minutes to run from end to end.
