The Joint Air-to-Ground Missile is expected to replace some air-to-ground missiles currently in service, including the AGM-114 Hellfire and AGM-165 Maverick.

The Hellfire missiles are meant to strike land targets and could support amphibious landings. 

The Spike will remain a specialized capability, and won’t come close to replacing the Apache’s mainstay weapon, the cheaper  AGM-114 Hellfire.
