UPDATE: The Poeville Fire is burning in grass and brush on the eastside of Peavine Mountain northwest of Reno, Nevada. At 9 p.m., the fire was estimated at 1,500 acres and zero percent contained. Local, state, county, and federal firefighters are on scene.
Reports indicate that there is a possibility Hilary could break all-time records as the wettest known tropical cyclone to strike as far north as Nevada, Oregon and Idaho.
Forecasters said Hilary was the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years, bringing flash floods, mudslides, high winds, power outages and the potential for isolated tornadoes.
