New Figures Show Debt Service of Developing Countries at Highest Ever Level, Putting SDGs Out of Reach Debt service across 139 developing countries is at its highest ever level, above previous Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) and Latin American debt crises. Debt payments are equal to total spending on education, health, social protection and climate.
