Vancouver Island First Nation declares protected area to preserve salmon and grizzly bear populations
The First Nation has declared an Indigenous Protected and Conserved area in Knight Inlet to exert a stronger stewardship role in its traditional territory in order to protect starving grizzly bears, declining salmon populations and a unique coral reef.
