Or, in the fall, the fields pumpkins are ripening. There is even an occasional goat or two walking on the roof. These are common sights at Hershberger s Farm and Bakery, located at 5452 State Route 557, just south of state Route 39, west of Berlin. What began as an in-home bakery has grown into a destination that is popular with local shoppers as well as tourists. The annual Eggfest that has been hosted by Coalway of Apple Creek and Charm for more than a decade is changing its name and will be held at a new location. The Holmes County Eggfest & BBQ Showcase will be held over two days, Friday, May 21, 3-8 p.m., and Saturday, May 22, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Mount Hope Auction grounds. The gates open at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and the benefit buffet opens at 10 a.m., along with the on stage demonstrations. This is the same Eggfest we have had annually for more than a decade, said Aaron Swartzentruber, owner of Coalway. We are simply moving the event to Mount Hope Auction to give it more room to grow. ....
