Few heard of Kansas City's only Black Medal of Honor recipient. That changes this week
Retired Marine 1st Sgt. Robert Gray was reading a book about Black Medal of Honor recipients, when he came across Pfc. Willy James, Jr., Kansas City’s only Black MOH recipient. Gray had never heard of him. So, for over a decade he has worked to ensure James’ contributions would be remembered.
