Pandemic worsened older adults' mental health & sleep; others show long-term resilience

Nearly one in five older adults say their mental health has gotten worse since the pandemic began in March 2020, and an equal percentage say their sleep has suffered in that time too. More than one in four say they're more anxious or worried than before the COVID-19 era, according to a new poll of people age 50 to 80. But the poll also reveals hopeful signs that many older adults are showing long-term resilience.

Health officer order extended, vaccine update provided at RiverStone press conference

During a press conference at RiverStone Health on Thursday, Yellowstone County Health Officer John Felton extended the latest health officer order through Jan. 31, 2021.
The extension comes as Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare expect a first shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to arrive next week. The hospitals are expecting fewer than 2,000 doses. It's likely that all of those doses go towards vaccinating healthcare workers who are in direct contact with people who have COVID-19, according to Felton.
Senior care facilities in the county, which are a high-priority group for vaccinations, will be receiving vaccines from a separate supply line, according to Felton.
