SNOW HILL, Md. The town of Snow Hill will have a new face on its town council after Tuesday s municipal election saw residents elect a new mayor. Snow Hill resident Jennifer Jewell will become the town s third mayor in two years, successfully winning the position after she ran unopposed. Tammy Simpson, who s served as interim mayor since last August, didn t file for election in March. Simpson was chosen by the town council in July to become interim mayor after former mayor Gary Weber stepped down to become the Snow Hill s new town manager. Part of Jewell s platform for mayor centered around Weber and the actions that led up to him becoming town manager last summer. ....

Residents will head to the polls in May to choose a mayor and two Town Council members. This year s election will feature three races, for mayor, Central District council member and Western District council member. This year s mayoral election will be the town s third in three years, with former mayor Gary Weber being elected in 2019 and reelected in 2020. Lisa Outten Harrison, who represents the Eastern District on the Town Council, isn t up for reelection this year. Her two-year term expires in 2022. ....
