Sir Richard Branson is having a pretty good 2021 so far. In just the last two weeks he s added $1.7 billion to his net worth, thanks to the soaring price of Virgin Galactic stock. The stock has more than doubled in price this year. The reason for this is the community of Reddit traders who ve focused on Virgin Galactic stock. Branson s stake in Virgin Galactic now makes up almost half of his $6 billion net worth. Virgin Galactic s stock was up 22% in just one day to $53.79 when it had been $40 last week, $30 the week before that, and $25 the week before that. Branson founded Virgin Galactic in 2004 to be a space tourism firm that can take passengers on commercial suborbital flights. The firm just announced a new test flight for its SpaceShip Two this month. It is expected that the flight window will open on Saturday, February 13.
