Presence of the virus there. well then what has to go further is to sequence that virus. to say see if it is missing certain genes or having certain genetic mutations that is consistent with the omicron variant. that is why it took a little bit of time. one of the important steps dr. fauci mentioned this was a mild illness which is great news. we don't know the age of the patient. perhaps they were just a young, healthy individual and likely would have had mild symptoms even without it being the omicron variant. mentioned that they were fully vaccinated but they hadn't received a booster. mayb...
