Two local lawmakers receive committee assignments

OLYMPIA, Wash.  Two local Democratic lawmakers have received committee assignments for the upcoming legislative session starting January in Olympia.
40th District Rep. Debra Lekanoff of Bow will be seated as the vice chair of the House State Government and Tribal Relations Committee.
Lekanoff is currently the only Native American member of the Legislature.
Rep. Alex Ramel of Bellingham was appointed to the Energy & Environment Committee as well as the Finance and Transportation committees.
Ramel is a graduate of WWU’s Huxley College of the Environment.
