Hyperbolic. when you have the washington post and cnn saying that democracy is at stake if elon musk buys a social media company. snl. i don t get the joke. he goes from the guy saving the planet through the electric car to the second coming of donald trump? i ve never seen him saying anything remotely racist. this show lost me in 2016. right after trump won the cold open usually the most funny part of the show. she sings all lua and looks into the cama and says i m not giving up and neither should you. i thought what am i watching? this isn t comedy it is activism. sandra: elon musk has caused a meltdown. what is his endgame? what is your speculation on what he does? i think he has the dream we all had. we have enough money if we don t like something we buy it and change it to conform to the way we want it. ....

Politics. the great lesson is in saving your democracy, you often have to join with people you den agree with ideologically to preserve your democratic republic or your democracy. that s why i urge my fellow democrats to understand and define her. when i say fascism, i m not being hyperbolic. this gop is autocratic plus violence. cbs polls show 56% of republicans look at january 6th as an act of defending freedom. i appreciate those i disagree with ideologically on substance who still are patriots. who still believe in this democratic republic we can join together on one front to save our republic from this gop, which is how democracies die. joe, how did this go wrong? i feel for a long time america did a good job of understanding that our fundamental agreement on the tenets of democracy are not in dispute. we could completely have different views across the political spectrum. you can believe in no minimum wage. can i believe in $25 an hour. ....

FOXNEWS Tucker Carlson Tonight January 20, 2022 01:29:00

i don t either. and i don t know that in a two hour press conference he would have been able to field that scripted question. or if he had already made an answer for that question. hey, tucker, i will say this. i made this point today on the will cain podcast, and it can sound so partisan and hyperbolic, but i do believe it is true: i think joe biden is the worst president of my lifetime, and possibly after his first year in office in the running for forced president in american history. and it is not because of the incompetence, not because of the mistakes, and there s plenty of all of that. it is because his knee-jerk, instinct reaction to whatever he finds or encounters any type of pushback is to divide us on race. is to create an attempt to create an underclass of people to blame for our problems called the unvaccinated, and it is to openly call for the silencing of people disagree with him. he has openly asked for censorship. that is what makes him uniquely the worst president ....

MSNBC All In With Chris Hayes January 20, 2022 01:35:00

May of next year that talks about the fights that we have had since we have become a republic to make sure that everybody had the right to vote and the battles that ensued. and it seemed that this is the most important thing i could focus on. our democracy is at stake. i am not being hyperbolic, not being alarmist, i am not exaggerating. our democracy is at stake. the passage of these bills is critical. the voter suppression going on is unbelievable. the subversion of the infrastructure of the electoral system is hard to fathom. these are things that we can put a stop to, but we have to address it and that s why i decided that this would be something i would focus on. all right. i want to talk we just talked to mark elias about some of the substance of the bills here. i know, obviously, you want to talk substance and i we agree, i think, largely, on the substantive case. you know, you were worked in the upper everybody lons of the ....

CNN New Day With John Berman and Brianna Keilar January 12, 2022 13:04:00

joining me now is the chair of uc san francisco s department of medicine, dr. robert walker. thank you for joining us this morning. those comments from dr. janet woodcock, the acting commissioner of the fda, it seems like that s what a lot of people have been saying since the omicron surge around thanksgiving, we first learned about this new variant. but to hear a top federal health official put it so plainly was really striking. yeah, i m struck by that too. it is clear it is spreading like wildfire in all of us. know friends and family who have it. whether all of us get it or virtually all of us, that seems a little hyperbolic to me. the numbers say about 1% of people a day are getting it. so a lot of people are going to get it. but i still am not of the attitude that it is inevitable you re going to get it. and the signs are that it is going to peak relatively quickly and come down quickly. so to me, the right call is to be careful for the next few weeks until this hurricane ....
