As the world is still battling to curb the spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant of Coronavirus, scientists in France have discovered a new strain that is said to have 46 mutations.
A new variant of coronavirus named IHU has been reported by researchers at institute IHU Mediterranee Infection in at least 12 cases. However, the researchers noted that it is too early to speculate on how this variant behaves as far as infection and protection from vaccines are concerned.
Details about the "IHU" variant have been released in a yet-to-be-peer reviewed paper published in a preprint on MedRxiv.
