Shares in major Asian computer chipmakers slumped on Tuesday after the US announced tough new measures to restrict sales of technology to China. The US said it will ban American firms from selling certain chips used for supercomputers and artificial intelligence to Chinese firms, BBC reported. The rules, which were announced on October 7, also target sales from non-US companies that use American equipment. As North Korea threatens to beef up its nuclear capabilities,  South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol said that the nation has nothing to gain from it. "North Korea is consistently developing and upgrading its nuclear weapons and posing nuclear threats to not only our Republic of Korea but the world," Yoon told reporters, referring to South Korea by its official name. At least 85 people are estimated to have lost their lives when an overloaded boat capsized in a flood-swollen river in Nigeria's Anambra, reports AFP quoting President Muhammadu Buhari. "The boat reportedly carrying 85 persons capsized following rising floods in the Ogbaru area of the state, with emergency services confirming a death toll of 76," said Buhari's office. 36 years since a catastrophic meltdown at the Chernobyl power plant unleashed one of the world's worst nuclear disasters, now "mutant" black frogs are spawning in the vicinity. The species of frog found in this area, known as the Eastern tree frogs (Hyla Orientalis) typically have bright green skin but now many have sprung up with dark or pigmented skin.  A study published in Evolutionary applications details the research surrounding these frogs' evolution. Scientists believe that darker skin might help the frogs survive in the exclusion zone.
