Amazon's long-rumoured cloud gaming service has finally been unveiled; it's called Luna and will be heading to Fire TV, PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android soon.
As with Google and Microsoft's similarly styled offerings, Stadia and Cloud Gaming with Xbox Game Pass, Amazon's pitch is immediate access to a wide range of games across multiple devices. Unlike Stadia's much-maligned effort, however, Amazon is opting for something closer to an all-inclusive subscription model, initially offering over 100 games via its Luna+ channel for an "introductory price" of $5.99 USD a month during early access.

Amazon Luna is a new cloud gaming service from the tech giant, coming soon to PC, Mac, Fire TV and iPhone and iPad (via web apps), with an Android release planned for later on. To start with it will only be available in the US and by invitation only, but expect it to branch out to the rest of the world as soon as Amazon can.
More in line with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it’s based of a subscription model, instead of Google Stadia’s model where you buy each game. However, what’s interesting is that they are angling to have gaming “channels”. The main one will be Amazon’s own, Luna+, which offers over 100 games for an introductory monthly price of $5.99. They also mention a Ubisoft channel coming in the future, allowing for other companies to come in and set up shop as well.

No, Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic isn't working on a new Banjo-Kazooie game for Microsoft.
Banjo-Kazooie game was in the works at
Yooka-Layleedeveloper Playtonic. It started with a tweet from Playtonic’s Ed Bryan saying “well, I never really had plans to use this again” with a picture of a Microsoft bag. This led people to believe a collaboration or possible acquisition with Microsoft was possible. Meanwhile, a description on Gavin Price’s LinkedIn profile suggested that Playtonic would eventually be working on a game that Price “always thought would be game #1.”
While that isn’t much to go on, many found that it, along with Banjo and Kazooie’s recent inclusion in

The indie studio is not involved with the bird and bear.
Over the past few days, rumors and speculation have been swirling around developer Playtonic Games, the creators of platforming series Yooka-Laylee. The indie studio is, of course, comprised of numerous ex-Rare employees who previously worked on the Banjo-Kazooie games.
The rumors speculated that the studio was either making a new Banjo-Kazooie title, or that it had been acquired by Microsoft. As it turns out, neither of these is true.
Playtonic did recently hire ex-Rare artist Ed Bryan, and he did tweet a picture of a Microsoft bag with the caption: "Well, I never really had any plans to use this again." But the rumors spiralling out from this tweet were overblown.
